Paul Verbinnen, President and Co-Founder of Sard Verbinnen & Co, has joined the Board of Directors of The After-School Corporation (TASC), a nonprofit organization that has helped more than 300,000 kids and families over nine years by supporting after-school programs that operate inside New York City schools each day school is in session, from 3 to 6 PM.
Mr. Verbinnen co-founded Sard Verbinnen in 1992. The company provides strategic corporate, financial and crisis communications counsel and services to clients including Fortune 500 corporations, smaller public companies, financial and professional service firms, privately-held entities and high-profile individuals.
"TASC has an outstanding track record in helping to develop and fund high-quality after school programs in New York City and nationally that help keep kids safe in the hours when they are most vulnerable, and demonstrably improve in-school academic performance, engagement and motivation," Mr. Verbinnen said. While there is still a huge unmet need for these kinds of programs, TASC has achieved impressive momentum by effectively leveraging its resources, and by working cooperatively and creatively with schools and other community-based organizations. I'm delighted to be joining such a committed board and look forward to working with the other members and talented TASC staff to do what I can to help build on TASC's progress."
Mr. Verbinnen has advised companies in the U.S. and overseas on mergers & acquisitions, proxy fights, initial public offerings, earnings surprises, restructurings, crises, executive changes and long-term corporate positioning and investor relations programs. Before Sard Verbinnen, Mr. Verbinnen was Executive Vice President, International for The Ogilvy Public Relations Group. Mr. Verbinnen has a B.A. degree in political science from Syracuse University.
TASC Board Chairman Robert D. Joffe said, "We are confident that Paul's extensive strategic communications experience will help TASC advance our messaging and marketing efforts in the years ahead. With our tenth anniversary on the immediate horizon, there couldn't be a better time for Paul to join us."
