Youth Today: TASC’s ELT Initiative

Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School and Edward Bleeker Junior High School are featured in a Sept. 2009 article on effective expanded learning programs. Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School partners with the Abyssinian Development Corp. to provide expanded learning opportunities for students; Edward Bleeker Junior High partners with Child Center of New York.

The schools are part of the Expanded Learning Time / New York City project, which aims to expand learning time for students in 10 pilot schools by at least 30 percent. TASC manages the program, in partnership with the New York City Department of Education and the Department of Youth and Community Development.
