Teen ACTION (Achieving Change Together In Our Neighborhoods) is a service learning initiative that provides young people in grades 6-12 with an opportunity to develop community service projects that focus on issues directly affecting their lives. The youth forum will bring Teen ACTION participants from around the city together for a free-ranging discussion about what they want to change and how they plan to change it.
The theme of this year’s forum is “Giving Back to the Forgotten.” At the event, participants will present representatives from the Safe Horizon's Street Outreach program with donated items that will be distributed to runaway and homeless youth. The items include socks, t-shirts, pajamas, underwear, toothbrushes and other toiletries.
