The goals of this two-day symposium are to increase awareness of the great potential of after-school programs for older youth, to advance our collective knowledge of this pioneering work, and to begin building a network of dedicated professionals who are working with high school beyond the school day. This event brings together new and experienced after-school program leaders and nationally recognized experts in youth development to focus on the role of the practitioner in creating successful out-of-school time programs. CASE is working with Sam Piha of Temescal Associates, a nationally recognized leader of high school after-school, to convene speakers and session leaders. In addition, youth will present interactive sessions and share their perceptions and ideas for out-of-school time.
