Funding from The New York Community Trust supported the development of this guide and allowed TASC to provide central and site-based training for after-school programs interested in enhancing the quality of their work with learning and behaviorally challenged students. The guide contains outreach materials to facilitate recruitment of students with disabilities, techniques that have proven to be effective with these students, tools that allow you to assess the current level of inclusion, an overview of laws surrounding special education, and examples from several TASC programs that have created successful inclusive after-school programs.
