Eli Segal served as the first CEO of the Corporation for National Service and under his leadership AmeriCorps was born. Through Mr. Segal's, vision, perseverance, commitment and entrepreneurial spirit, National Service has become deeply imbedded within our culture. To honor and build upon his legacy, AmeriCorps Alums will honor one alum who has demonstrated outstanding entrepreneurial commitment to service. This award is intended recognize the exceptional impact of one AmeriCorps Alum whose commitment to embody service beyond their term of AmeriCorps service is self evident. Funds can be used by the recipient to help continue or initiate a sustainable community initiative. The winner will also receive complimentary attendance at the National Conference On Volunteering & Service in Atlanta, GA from June 1-3, 2008.
