The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes honors outstanding young leaders who have made a significant positive difference to people and the planet. Nominees may range in age from 8 to 18 years old and must be legal residents of and currently residing in the U.S. or Canada at the time of nomination.
Nominees must have organized and led a truly extraordinary service activity which has clearly benefited other people, animals, or the planet. The activity must have been created and initiated primarily by the nominee.
The award winner receives in-kind benefits including mentoring and media opportunities along with $2,500, which may be applied to their higher education or their service project.
