Short Description
The State Farm Youth Advisory Board will fund student-led service-learning projects in the following areas:
- Financial Literacy: Equip students with the skills they need to be successful and informed about their current and future finances.
- Access to Higher Education/Closing the Achievement Gap: Develop innovative strategies for empowering students to care about and take control of their education in order to reduce and eliminate the dropout crisis.
- Natural and Societal Disaster Preparedness: Address challenges ranging from hurricanes to obesity, floods to suicide.
- Drivers' Safety: Innovative methods of educating and empowering youth to increase safe driving behaviors.
- Environmental Responsibility: Create and implement powerful service-learning projects that improve the local and global environment.
Eligible organizations must be a public K-12, charter or higher education institution; non-profit organizations are also eligible if they are able to demonstrate how they plan to impact student achievement in public K-12 schools. Awards range from $25,000 to $100,000.
