The Foundation offers service improvement grants to organizations that serve youth ages 8 to 25 directly, such as after-school programs and youth-service organizations. Grants focus on small to medium-size organizations that have achieved some success, but lack the funds to make needed improvements in the quality of the services they offer to young people. Direct-service community-based organizations located in the five boroughs of New York City are eligible to apply.
Applicants should describe the youth services targeted for improvement, identify an issue or problem at the point-of-service where staff and youth interact, and propose a solution. Grants are not intended to provide general operating support. Awards are $25,000 each and support projects lasting between six months and two years.
