TASC has pioneered the establishment of daily, comprehensive, after-school programs that are essential to 21st century kids and families. These programs expand kids’ learning time by as much as 40 percent and build a bridge between the end of the school day and the beginning of family time, when many kids would otherwise be left on their own, unsupervised.

At TASC, a nonprofit organization founded in 1998, we advocate for all kids to have the enriching, expansive after-school opportunities, including sports, arts and music, which are standard in the lives of higher income families. Our goal is to make after-school a public responsibility.

TASC supports after-school programs from 3 to 6 PM in public schools in New York City. The first nonprofit organization in the nation to set about building a citywide K-12 after-school system, TASC has raised the bar on after-school quality and accountability, and helped transform the way after-school is delivered and funded in New York City, the state and the nation.
