Research Shows:

» Of all students who attend comprehensive after-school programs in New York City, 90 percent live in low income families

» Kids who participate in after-school programs improve significantly in their behavior, their achievement and their feelings and attitudes toward school

Volunteering can take many forms. You could help out at an after-school program in your community by participating in New York City’s Semester of Service. You could advise high school students on preparing for college, work alongside kids by helping out at a community service event, help us advocate for every kid to have access to expanded learning opportunities.

For general information about volunteer opportunities at TASC, please contact Sarah Mahran, Director of Administration, at (646) 943-8751 or smahran [at] tascorp.org.

Featured Volunteer Opportunity:

In partnership with the New York Times Neediest Cases Fund, TASC hosts an annual Summer Jobs College & Career Fair for several hundred New York City high school students, typically on the campus of New York University.

TASC would like to extend an invitation to professionals from various fields (including the arts, education, fashion, fitness & wellness, law, social service, journalism etc.) to volunteer at least two consecutive hours of their time to either speak about their careers with students or assist them with résumé reviews and/or mock interviews. We also seek volunteers who can represent their alma maters or help us engage their schools to showcase their offerings.

If you might be interested in volunteering for a TASC College & Career Fair, or wish to receive email updates on upcoming fairs, please contact Candace Brazier-Thurman at (646) 943-8780 or cthurman [at] tascorp.org.
